Aik
Cheong has "bean" around

MELAKA: When you
mention the name "Aik Cheong", you can't help but think of
quality coffee.
To
be exact, two years before the birth of Malaysia dated in August
1957, Aik Cheong Coffee Roaster Sdn Bhd took shape and grew into a
household name.
Known only as Mr Leong, the owner
of Aik Cheong, said, "The growth of our company lies in our
branding, company culture, high quality products, modern technology
and an open mind to listen.
I believe in treating the
employees well and providing them with a comfortable working
environment."
Success does not come easy.
"I remember the time when we had
a very tight dateline to meet and it was a very large order.
We did not have enough people for
our production and we were running out of ideas.
Ultimately, the management gave up
their holidays and helped the operations in packing the coffee!
It was a great boost of morale for
all of us and we worked as a team with one spirit," he added.
Aik Cheong noted that IT is an
integral part to the success of its growth.
They have used IT to monitor their
operations, improve their marketing through their website and make
better business decisions.
And here are some tips from Mr
Leong in running a company: "Be forgiving, treat your employees
well and listen to ideas from people who care."
